@MalnourishedGoat: Right on! Even though Sesame Street has had its own educational research panel since Episode 1, they never concluded that Cookie Monster was a bad example...he was a MONSTER, darn it, and monsters are supposed to act wild and crazy. The researchers trusted kids' intelligence and parents' common sense one heckuva lot more than they do today; I think Sesame Workshop shouldn't overreact to the latest complaints from too-serious, neurotic parents.
