This video shows the steam-up and run of a little "Live Steam" Train. It is in HO Scale, using denatured alcohol as fuel. You can find more info and pictures on my website: http://wolfie.venturesinmedia.com/

  • Where do you get denatured alcohol? What do you use to run it? Can you use lamp oil?

  • You can buy denatured alcohol in stores like Home Depot or Lowes (Sometimes in the paint section). I never tried lamp oil, but it will probably not work, because it does not have enough energy and it would mess up the boiler with sooth.

  • @wbenz17 what is live steam

  • @gtasandman

The meaning of live steam is that the model loco actually runs on steam like a "real" steam train vs. electricity that is usually used to power model trains.

  • howe much does it cost :) ?

  • They cost about $300 to $500 depending on the model and if you buy it assembled or as a kit.
