Whangarei District Council Dog Pound Inspection Request by Warren & Pat Slater declined by Council

When a request to visit the Whangarei District Council Dog Pound by Warren and Pat Slater, to check on the improvements recommended by a Dog Control Review held in 2007 and presented to council is declined by Whangarei District Council Environmental Manager, Mr Paul Dell, one must wonder why. What dont they want the public to see? Being ratepayers that were instrumental in having the review take place it was only appropriate to have an update on developments to date. But, no they definitely do not want us to inspect the Dog Pound. When there is no transparency, people will always ask the question, why? Are we wrong in thinking councillors and staff are there to represent the people?
