on the TCM website it says there "was" another ending but it was almost never used

@PaulSebert I'm with you he should have made an alternate ending just so we could see what happens if the butler told him what sir Robert said.

The guy in this shot is clearly hoping you'll pick the punishment bit. He shouldn't be so biased; he should let the audience pick without showing his own feelings on the subject.

You know it's kind of a pity that William Castle didn't go all the way through and shoot an alternate ending to the film. Would have made a neat DVD special feature.
