MACS Social Studies curriculum incorporated Street Law two years ago and has showcased a mock trial case as its cumulative assessment. The mock trial encourgaes students to develop critical thinking, communication, and various other skill sets which teaches students to analyze and debate conflicting perspectives.

Playing the role of attorneys and witnesses at the courthouse, 7th and 8th grade students of MACS litigated the case in front of Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Judge Joe Williams at the Allegheny County Courthouse.

This course is taught by retired K&L Attorney, Carl Cooper and MACS Educator, Dennis Henderson.

  • ADMIRALTY LAW COURT proceeding (Law Of The Sea) used by Police corporations to pass judgments against the breaking of STATUTES.

I'd like to see a mock COMMON LAW proceeding too (Law Of The Land). Having my 'natural born rights' (as listed in The 'original' CONSTITUTION) is important to 'me' and IMO a much better way, as it's purpose is REAL REMEDY for people, NOT CORPORATE PROFIT.

1.Guilty 2. Innocent 3. No-Contest 4. Common Law Rights (notice they always forget to mention this option)

  • Nice job, I'm so pleased and impressed with the MACS students. Wonderful job 8th graders!!!!

  • Way to go, MACS!!!
