We broadcast from Park City, Utah, home of the Sundance Film Festival, the nation's largest festival for independent cinema. One of this year's selections that is creating a lot of buzz is a documentary called The Black Power Mixtape. The film features rare archival footage shot between 1967 and 1975 by two Swedish journalists and was discovered in the basement of Swedish public television 30 years later. We speak with renowned actor and activist Danny Glover, who co-produced The Black Power Mixtape.

  • It deeply angers and saddens me that our black brothers and sisters of the past have suffered immensely and fought hard to give us basic liberties, Yet today we have blacks who do nothing but bring shame and disgrace on our race by their ignorant and shameful behaviour

  • Haha he backed off on the Obama question.Dude is slick.

  • There is no need to use any form of slurs to describe the actors situation. Although, I' am deeply sadden that you are overwhelmed with anger.

  • @ow7ful it's the same in Latino communities thorough out the US. Many Latinos have fallen asleep or are sleeping and dreaming of erasing their own culture, heritage. Some can pass and move on but not all! Seems like the 1980s erased a generation of memory and presence with Reagan sponsored Crack! Today we live with a broken bridge and nostalgia to make ends meet at Urban Outfitters. Its not over though...every dream that doesn't come true becomes a nightmare, eventually!

  • @ ow7ful its could oppression

  • I loved this documentary immensely. It is now streaming on Netflix. Because i was filmed by Swedish film makers during that era, i am able to get an outside perspective on the Black Power Movement.

  • But Condi Rice claims she dosn't recall the civil rights movement , depending on who she talking to.

  • i want Toussaint to make millions

  • @screwface1011 To each his own. Danny Glover has proved his love and respect for African descendants. He's been fight for years with TransAfrica. I think you should keep your eyes on people like Herman Cain.

  • @moonstar7 My bad. He was married to a cave bitch. I stand corrected. It still puts him in the "watch very closely column".

  • A GREAT film and needs to be seen in every school in this country and around the world.

  • @screwface1011 You have no idea what you are talking about. Danny Glover is getting married to Eliane Cavalleiro.
