UHM. There's some gross brown algae on the gravel in the bottom of the tank.
Thought it would be a good idea to show ya'll in case you were wondering.
Going to clean the tank tomorrow.
Update soon!
Hope all is well! Happy tanks!

  • get a uv sterilizer

  • thats not a bloom a bloom is when algea is growing on the sides of the tank and makes the water extremley murky

  • @muuplet

    hahaaaaaaaaaa nice

  • a slight temp change in the water will spur the platys to mate! just feed the fry crushed up powdered flake food and they will grow out quickly..

  • Hi, nice tanks, I have Fancy GF too, Bettas, and others.. and they do the "flash' behavior..also, you need a bigger tank 4 the 3 fancy's, and need to change the water 20-30% a week, got GF! and the brown Algae in your warm tank, get a little Pleco, change water more often and keep the light time down, Platy's are great live bearers and can have babies every month, but in your Platy tank you'll need more places to hide and plants / moss etc..for the fry to hide in survive.

  • I have that brown Blum to. I believe it is in the rocks and I'm going to revoe them and clean for a couple of days. BUT. You have too many fish in that tank... Just advice. Mollies and platys need 2-3 inches per gallon. I have a 55 gallon and only have 15 mid size fish. And a 20 gallon with 6 lyertail mollies. As for gold fish- you do need a bigger tank ) : the scratch on the rocks because the slime coat is off balance - ick is itchy. Hope this helps ( ;

  • The goldfish tank is wayyy too small, even for a single goldfish. A 2.5gal is okay for a Betta but not for goldfish. Generally per every inch of fish should be a gallon of water but it's usually more than that for goldies, just a tip :)

  • diatom algae, new tank?
