My last big technic set apart from the pneumatic digger that came out shortly after. I got it all together but never understood what the picture in the manual depicting how the gear wheels had to be aligned with the knobs on a long brick, was actually trying to explain. That is, until I pushed the car along and the gear box made a horrible crunching noise... :) Cool video.

I remember building this as a kid late into the night on christmas 1981 while watching "Fridays" with Larry David. So much fun!

This model was bought for my brother in the eairly 80s and we always had trouble with the gearing system. I'm now trying to go about restoring it and was wandering if anyone could give me any advice as to how I might be able to resolve the above issue.
