Charlie spent 40 years lecturing and teaching on Noah's ark.

He's built a scale model, and in doing so found some interesting and humorous things about how possible it was.

Coming from a scientific background, he examines the possibility of keeping a boat that big clean, providing light, and fresh air, and removing any excess water.

Also see a water pump with no moving parts.

  • See Isaiah 11:6 and Isa 65:25 for more information on how lions will be in heaven.

Studies have also shown that animals fed a vegetarian diet are a lot easier to care for and less aggressive. that's why most lions fed in zoos are fed a vegetarian diet.

But with all those guarding angels no-longer having a whole world to guard, all their focus would be on the ark, there would be plenty of the power of heaven there to stop any 'accidental' killings on that ship.

  • I think it's a valid question about how the lions didn't eat the gazelle, But I think it actually has a really easy answer.

In Daniel, when the prophet was thrown into a den of hungry lions, they didn't eat him, (read the story, they were hungry)

Da 6:22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths."

So I believe God simply sent his angel to shut the lions mouth during that time they were on the ark, if he ever wanted to eat other animals.

  • A lot of non-engineers forget the scaling rule.

    Area is square of length

    Vol is cube of length

    Mass is cube of length

A scaled down model shld not look like the actual model. Because u must take into account the reduced stress in a smaller model (mass decrease more than area, unit stress decreases while unit strength remain constant).

Same reason why ant can lift 50 times its weight. In life size, noah ark would break up upon itself on the first big wave.

  • All that "bilge pump" seems to be doing is sloshing the water from one side to the other. On a boat, water sloshing around is known as "free surface effect;" it causes the vessel to capsize.

I also note that almost every sailing dinghy in the world has a "bilge pump with no moving parts" known as a self-bailer, which unlike this gimmick actually works.

  • this is a load of two of every animal on earths' shit!!!!

  • Charlie wasted 40 years of his life... The things humanity puts up with makes me sad.

  • Christianandscience? Now there's two words that don't go together. I see that the engineering issues have already been addressed quite well, but it doesn't matter. You can discuss the design and whatever else you think might go into the construction of such a vessel. It's a moot point. Since there was no flood per a literal interpretation of Genesis, there was no corresponding ark. Geology, chemistry, physics, and most importantly, math simply say NO.

  • Such willingness for ignorance towards scientifically proven facts is an outright insult to humanity. Shame on religion for twisting minds, Shame on man for inventing religion and Shame on you for continuing the twisted cycle.

  • It saddens me to watch one of my fellow members of humanity preach such blatantly ignorant religious propaganda. Even justifying the story of Noah as a metaphor is a problematic contradiction of “moral” righteousness. Yet to try and teach Noah’s story as factual or better yet, “scientific”, is nothing but ridicules lies.

  • So which ones lived, the salt water fish or the fresh water fish?

  • @ChristianandScience Don't you think that they would have mentioned that detail. It wouldn't exactly be a minor point. You ask a very valid question, a logical one. Now you need to follow that logic to its natural conclusion.

  • This is one of the craziest things I have ever seen. Clearly science is not your forte... stick to your day job.

  • If density is assumed to be constant, vol is equivalent to mass. Mass is just vol x density.

  • I agree with the principle of what you're saying. However, I don't think "Mass is cube of length". The way you just described it, volume and mass are equivalent, which they are clearly not.
