MAP Sensor ECU Signal Circuit

(CC. Original Closed Caption Available)

NOTE: This special Video-Course Sub-Series is designed to gain knowledge of the effects a circuit has on the rest of the ECU and how it reacts to such INPUT-Values.

The MAP Sensor ECU Signal circuit to the ECU is used to calculate engine load and air intake. This sensor is also used now to check the operation of the E G R system.

Seen here, is the MAP sensor symbol to the far right. At the bottom right are 4 L E D symbols, signifying the injectors. The MAP sensor receives two circuits from the E C M, the ground seen here, and the 5 volt reference taken from the reference circuit. At the bottom of the MAP we see that actual signal wire going to the input of the E C M, signified by the triangle symbol plus side. It is amplified and then passed to the digital circuit to the top.

After the signal is processed, the E C M microprocessor then
