TMMPPs first installment was called The MacMeyer Palliative Project: loss is okay, and through visual catalysts such as tape graffiti, guerilla mosaics and ribbon-breaking ceremonies, attempted to rethink the current paradigm for dealing with day-to-day loss. For the occasion of M:ST, TMMPP has found itself in the company of the evocative medical term proprioception. A word more complex than the allure of a triplex, TMMPPs has pilfered from it the bodys ability to sense where the various parts of the body are located in relation to each other.
We were interested in expanding the definition of proprioception from the bodys corporeal self-awareness to a (social) self-awareness within a city, specifically Calgary.
"The number of homeless people at the Calgary Remand Centre has nearly doubled in two years, prompting some agencies to suggest the numbers are rising due to unpaid tickets for social disorder." - The Calgary Herald
