  • I'm almost sold on this. My main reason for buying a Brompton (after trying the horrible A-Bike and non-compact Dahon) was for its discreet portability. This is perfect and takes the weight off. However, where would one carry it while ON the bike? Maybe it's strictly for travel.

  • Hi Lilnyc,

The 'Travel Case' is designed as an airline legal, hard sided cases. It's not meant for carrying with the bike. Have you seen the Dahon El Boso or the Carradice First Fold bags? That may be what you're after.

  • Great video. I would add the following steps for further protecting the bike:

    1. Strap the bike together so the TSA inspector who pulls it out won't jam it back and bend things. You might even include a picture to show how you want it packed.

    2. Put a nylon bucke strap around the case itself, so you can leave it unlocked and TSA won't break the locks.

I learned the hard way on all of these points.

  • The case should either trail or attach to the front luggage mount, otherwise it's an incumberance when you want to cycle and move all your gear at the same time. I approached Brompton with a prototype about 4 years ago which was a box trailer for exactly this job. I used it successfully on two flights and then switched to a B Bag. The B Bag is total rubbish: last trip 400GBP damage to my bike. I spoke to Brompton about the bag and they said that there's a hardshell case due out in Jan.

  • Where can i buy that case ?

  • Cool for travel.Otherwise I think I'll just stick to my FUJI SL.

    :D
