  • at the time I really enjoyed this game as a 9 year old kid & still do BTW, If you were not there at the time you must understand that it was an exciting time and to have "video games" at home was uber amazing! and everyone new that the games would not be like the arcades, not being as good as the arcades also drove forward the industry as kids like me were talking & dreaming of what it would be like in the future . we could only barely imagine ps3`s & 360`s ..

  • My first experience with this game was just a few years later, but it was after I had played the excellent Ms. Pac-Man port. The original just did not stand up in comparison. - Ray

  • Pac-Man was playable, but compared to the arcade version it is a big let down. It just wasn't a well put together port and done in a short amount of time to get released. In comparison, Ms. Pac-Man as well as Jr. Pac-Man for Atari 2600 were very solid titles, and closer to what you would expect for a port. EVERYONE had a copy of Pac-Man though, it was pretty much a standard if you owned an Atari since the Pac was so cool at the time. In retrospect play Ms. Pac or Jr. Pac if you want a good game.

  • In Pac-Man for the Atari, it starts with 3 ghosts, and the fourth will come out of the top warp pipe later. And the maze is sideways. WTF Atari!!??

  • The ball in Atari's "Video Pinball" is a lot heavier than real life, but I didn't care because I never played real pinball anyway. I actually tracked my high score in that game, which I normally didn't care about in other games. It's slower paced than real pinball, but it's fun.

I didn't play NES Pinball until pretty recently when I bought a cartridge, but didn't like it as much.

  • I always wondered if pacman was rushed out because of KC munchkin for the odyssey^2...what was the timing on that?

  • the game is so bad that the maze will not change at all.

  • i really enjoyed nintendo pinball myself. this one i remember vaguely. this translation of pinball is real scabby.

  • Wow, that commercial was retarded

  • Seriously to be honest, I REALLY enjoyed Pac Man for the Atari as a kid. I have no idea why it got such a bad rep. I mean I understand things like the maze being different, Pac Man looking different and the sounds and stuff but I mean all of the other Arcade ports on the Atari werent 100% arcade perfect. At least Pac Man was playable.
