How to do a Dilating Eye or Monster Transformation in Adobe After Effects

We needed to do an effect where a pupil needed to dilate for a drug scene. This tutorial explains how to do it in Adobe After Effects CS5. The footage was shot with a Canon 5D Mark II.

Great effect! A step further would be to make another layer with the white reflection on the left of the eye and put that on top of the growing pupil for added realism.
