Stairs 'not to code'. After 1 1/2 years asking builder to repair, we filed a lawsuit.

  • built on site and not workshop maybe?

  • @stairsni I don't know,but I believe they were built on site.

  • What a shame! They were beautiful stairs!

  • @ezalburez beautiful maybe, but not built to code and were a fall hazard.

  • First attempt by builder to repair stairs which were not level and had varied rise and run, not within code. Several stair treads were removed, with new ones installed and the trim pieces shaved. This did not pass inspection and eventually the stairs were completely removed / replaced in January 2010

  • @efitzger76 they looked really NICE

  • @CGWmom whiner

  • What a waste! Beautiful stairs dismantled...It looks like only the last step is short, which is not correct, but no reason to scrap them. Give the inspector 100 bucks next time + a case of beer and keep something as nicely made as those.

  • What was the problem? Why were they not up to code?

  • Must have been a hot day! Or that dude is really nervous!
