Look at lower left corner in 2:24, someone threw a fire?

Great job by the marshals, though does anyone else find it ironic that Neil Crompton said 2 seconds beforehand, "He withstood the blowtorch"....

awsome!

I cant believe its got 50 K views and the Bathurst 1000 was only a few days ago

Marshalls all over it like flies on the pope. Nice.

@MotorsportMonkey: I'm not sure about saving his life (the drivers do wear full fire-proof kit), but commendable action for sure; balls of steel... (Fire Marshals wear fireproof kit too)
-
@C906070: I agree; The MSDS for the ethanol fuel they use has the ignition point at ~16 degrees centigrade... even the heat of the road would have ignited the flames (hence it starting near the initial contact point...

I'm a "Volunteer" for motorcycle racing.
We still get paid. I use the money as Fuel money to help me get to and from the track.
So i would think that these guys are getting some kind of payment too, Considering they have to be out of work for 4 days.... Hence the entrance costs onto the track for the Competitors.

@Neutrinoghost they have volenteers for the event idiot

the other danger was the cameraman was splashed with fuel too.My thoughts is the ignition came from a hot road surface??

what a selfless fire marshall, no BA kit on, just ran straight in to protect Besnard. That smoke would've been toxic and breathing in that shit would've screwed you're throat up instantly
