Yes, it is really different from today. There was a good atmosphere, and joy mixed with respect. That was like an expression of freedom and joy, and both sex seems to be equal in the dance. Today ? Girls are just exposed like bitchs, like fresh meat to f*ck. That's just stupid mans with money and cars, and girls sumissive and necked. They don't show joy, freedom and respect, they just show how much powerful they are, and that they're like kings of a shitty kingdom.

This period of human history just seems so... dashing? Charming? I don't know what to call it but I love it.

What is the name of the first song? I look up Charleston in other videos and it's a different song!

It's most astonishing to think that, just 10 years before these films were made, women were wearing the long, covered-up dresses they'd worn since colonial times (and before). A World War followed quickly by a world-wide flu pandemic ended millions and millions of young lives. There was a sense that life was short and therefore to be lived now. Conventions were jettisoned and the modern age began. I don't think we've ever seen a decade that society and culture changed so much.

Were you around back then? Probably not, so it's stupid to make assumptions about what women were like based on a few happy black and white videos from the time. Stop looking at history through rose coloured glasses.

Loving the conductor at 0:24. You just don't see stuff like that any more.
