Quien estudia tecnica vocal con el maestro Vargas es todo un privilegiado asi como los que estudiaron en vida con el gran maestro Alfredo Kraus. Eso si es conocimiento de cantar con propiedad la lirica de los grandes belcantistas! Bravo !!!!

Haha, I always laugh at 2:18 when he sings that flat note (not that it detracts from the overall performance, though). Vargas in the early 90s was a fine Bel Canto tenor, as exemplified in this recording.

@neelsdp1 the falsetto he used thats because try to smooth the voice not because dont have a high tessiture,at the age he have a high notes very well.

@kimancuo he may have a bigger fuller richer voice but Juan Diego's interpretation is also excellent. It is hard to compare two non identical instruments...Juan Diego can really handle those very high notes...and he can really convey passion very well...so does RV - it sounds if RV uses more falsetto higher up...all well done...it is a bit like comparing two different excellent red wines...you may have your favorite!
