What Do You Use To Sketch In The Puppy? Like The Black Pencil Thing.

@Breyer1313 I was useing a charcoal pencil to color in. The sketch kit I have: ( Derwent 24 piece Sketch Kit) came with light, medium, and dark charcoal pencils and stick pieces of charcoal (and graphite pencils also). I was useing a graphite pencil to draw around the eyes and nose and original outline, but graphite is real shinny. Charcoal stays good and dark. The kit came with a kneaded erasor, which is great for erasing charcoal.

Well, I drew it. Looks nice, but nothing like yours. Can anyone learn to draw like this with training, or do you have to just have the artistic talent?

@mrdietz77  I believe everyone has artistic talent and can learn to draw good. It's part practice(lessons are good), part artistic thinking . You need to be familiar with the tools you use and your mind needs to be in artistic mode. I believe people have a serious mode and an artistic mode. No one can draw in serious mode. A book about this is Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, by Betty Edwards. I found it at Barnes & Noble on sale for $4.97. Thanks!
