@mrfunnyman99 The voice wasn't gone, but in the mid 1970's he lost most of his hearing to otosclerosis. When you lose hearing, it is normally from the top down, so staying on pitch in the upper register would have been a problem. Most of the hearing loss was reversed through three surgeries to remove the abnormal bone growth.

I all\so grew up with The Four Seasons. They got me through The heartaches of losing boyfriends The pain of War..etc....But, They were always there to share My joys of growing up, making new friends, slumber partys and Just downright fun of being a teenager in the 60s...Thanks Frankie...

My wife and I saw him three weeks ago in Oklahoma- met him backstage and got our pic taken with him- what a thrill and a super nice person. (BTW his falsetto was alive and well.)
