Your main Genesis unit is looking good, nice placement of ports. I tried 1080p but I don't think it looked much better than 720p plus my streaming buffer couldn't keep up.
The component looks good to me but its a hard thing to demonstrate in a video. One thing that makes it hard is that analog video output standards sort of gradually climb in clarity but will always be soft. You'll have to invite some subscribers over to see it in person. ^_^
Awesome work as always.:D

@thomas3120 scart rgb is not hd, component goes to 1080p and hdmi is the best at the moment.hdmi-component-rgb scart-composite

One more thing I atched anoher video of a guy showing odfd scart to yuv compnent as you have done, and he indicated that some models of USA SNES do not have rgb output in them, so do your research for the snes you have.

Hey do u have a normal interlaced CRT that has component inputs? That would get u the absolute best results, would look amazing. And as usual, the bigger the better! I think the biggest that exists is 36 inch, and 36 inch crt with component classic consles would rock. I hope to have that setup one day. In addition, it owuld be excellent to get yourself a scart splitter so you could have everything wired up for scart, with a single component output.

@thomas3120 Yeah just though id let you know because the file size on 1080p is much higher. and it takes much longer to upload. 720p to me looks the same as 1080p I have a 15" display. But really good quality nonetheless! :)

@thomas3120 Wii-mote like replacement for retro consoles would be pretty impressive. For a white-screen fill type game, you could monitor the RGB lines for when all go white for a screen fill, then use the sync signal to count out the scan position, when it matches the position of the gun based on IR, push down a hit.
The Menacer and guns like it would be a lot harder, as they measure phosphor decay after the scanning beam passes to determine the gun position constantly.

@thomas3120 For something like this, where you might pause it and get closer to look at the difference, 1080P would likely help for 21-27" monitors. Plus, there's no guarantee that people aren't watching on 32"+ monitors (my brother uses one on his PC).
In general though, I don't bother with higher than 720P on my 22", the bump in res doesn't make a huge difference even at a couple of feet away.

I am sad because I have a projector with a slot for scart, but unfortunately it is just a piece of plastic covering the spot for scart. Same mold obviously for canada vs Euro models.
It looks good in 1080p, but for people with a screen size below 32" it doesn't really make a difference. I recommend you post in 720p to save file size and upload time. but interesting video :)

@07SHeP Ahh cool, did not know that :) So there's no improvement at all on let's say 21-27" PC monitors? Thanks for the comment and info.

@daafies2 Thanks David :) Something I wish we had here in the US. It's a way to use RGB on televisions, mostly in Europe, originated in France (a type of A/V connection). It also carries audio (stereo), composite and I believe S-video. But yeah, RGB is the way to go. Next best thing I guess would be component (almost like RGB). I've always wondered about HDMI though...hmm, will have to do some reading on it.
