  • Fantastic post! It was almost impossible to touch 'Johnny' when it came to the blues! Would love to hear 'Led Zeps' set! Any more gems from this fest? Thx.

  • @recman1207 Zep is already up, and Floyd on film by other people.

Check out my playlist for Bath Festival to find them. I have audios from all but the first few acts .

Great set by Hot Tuna that I will be posting later on . Some acts only have a few songs recorded, not all the best quality, but still great to hear. Got hold of a Winter + BB King recording recently from 1969 .

  • so was i ...great festival!

  • Get Second Winter , the blue three sided album .

  • inspired by the the invasion of peter greens fleetwood mac in the US - they came back to us with some of the most fiery bluesy playing ever - so good!

  • BADASS

  • Not a great recording but Johnnys guitar playing and voice still shines through. I remember being in the crowd when he first came and stage and was tuning up and someone said to me "thats the best guitar solo you ever heard".

  • Thanks for this ,never thought we'd hear actual sounds from Bath again.

Am I right in remembering seeing JW on some sort of large screen as well? cause I don't remember seeing anyone else on screen at the festival, that's not to say it didn't happen though.

  • thanks for sharing!

  • Was at this bash.Rick Derringer on second geetar if memory serves.Man,did it piss down.Got me name in The Sun for describing the foul conditions.

Wouldn't have missed it for the world - better than Isle of Man.

  • This was the first festival I attended - cold, wet, but magical. Stuck near the back of the site, I made my way to the stage to take in the atmosphere - and Johnny Winter started just as I got there. I had never heard of him. It was a few incredible minutes of revelation. It was a thunderous, blistering wall of blues, with Johnny swaying around on the stage, in his cloak, white hair flashing - daintly gliding around the stage pouring out exhilarating music. Unforgettable. Thank you, Steve!

  • was there-one of the best fests ever
