This is my 1975 suzuki GT550 that I have been working on over the last month or so. Things done to it so far:
New points, rebuilt/cleaned carbs, new pod filters, refurbished oil injector pump, oil lines completely flushed out and cleaned (check valves checked), seat recovered, new spark plugs, spark plug wires and boots (non-resistor), wiring repaired, new tube in rear tire, replaced one rusted out exhaust muffler, repaired broken exhaust stud, tank has been cleaned of rust, tank petcock completely rebuild/refubished, new vacuum/fuel/drain lines. Tranmission oil was drained and changed as well.
Everything works including the gear position indicator. It still needs a left side cover and the tank needs to be repainted but I'm not sure I'm going to do that yet. Also I have not repacked the mufflers with silencer material yet. The baffles are still in place though, they are just unpacked.
It runs great and moves my fat ass around quite nicely considering it is only a 550. But it has something like 48 horsepower which isn't bad even compared to some modern smaller bikes.
Even though the motorcycle is a 2 stroke, it hardly smokes at all even when you goose the throttle.
