De Montfort University's Square Mile team has been spreading some Christmas cheer in the community while celebrating a successful 2011.
The team organised a community Christmas Fair, which was held in the main hall at Fosse Neighbourhood Centre, and also planted a 12ft Christmas Tree in Tudor Gardens, off Tudor Road, before staging an official light switch on with DMU vice-chancellor Professor Dominic Shellard.
The two Christmas events have rounded off a busy four months since the Square Mile project was officially launched in September 2011.
The Square Mile team is now looking forward to 2012 when at least another ten projects will be launched in the area which covers Fosse Road/Tudor Road, Woodgate and Newfoundpool.
