An Irish Town, Limerick Ireland - Ireland's Finest City

I Love Limerick. Johnny Duhan's song 'Just Another Town' captures the spirit of Limerick life in earlier times. Limerick City is the 3rd largest city in the Republic of Ireland. The river Shannon runs through the city. The spire viewed from the street is the 'Fathers'(The Church of Saint Alphonsus built 1858) whose bells ring out hymns -www.cssrlimerick.ie. The artistic talent abounds from this street and area -Frank McCourt writer of Angela's Ashes. In the late 1800's-1920's this area was known as "Little Jerusalem", jewish people fleeing Russia settled here. That was brilliant. All the images we see of Limerick in the media are so negative, it lifts the heart to see how it is portrayed in this video. I was born and bred in this city (I went to school on O'Connel Av), I work on Williams St and it can be easy to forget how special it is. Thanks for reminding me.
