A nostalgic review of The Chaos Engine by IE (interactive entertainment), a defunct (RIP) CD Mag (Paperless magazine on CD-rom). An idea way ahead of its time. The Chaos Engine is an arcade shoot-em' up. I seem to recall a similar game also coming out for the Super Nintendo looking almost identical also (The port for SNES was called Soldiers of Fortune and replaced the preacher with the scientist). This is a quick review for a game that is all about jumping in, having a quick blast of things and jumping out.

  • I started a fan page for Dan Malone (the artist on this game) on facebook recently, and via various links and posts I managed to contact Dan himself to talk to him about it, he was very touched his work was still loved...I mean, his work is classic! He even started to upload concept sketches from The Chaos Engine and also the original arena design for Speedball 2.

Search for The Incredible Art Of Dan Malone on facebook

Please thumbs up so people can join in and tell Dan he's the flea's peas

  • no in game footage! didnt get a nostalgia fix at all. the video just told me... nothing really

  • Haha, gotta love the rant at the beginning about complicated games and high system requirements... then it only got worse, those were the days.
