I got a nylon tent as well. Although it was stronger than yours they just not well suited for wind and rain. My next tent is going be quality canvas tent with proper poles, portable wood stove for heat, and adjoining tarp so can sit outside and watch the nylon people suffer when it rains.
oh mate i was in the same boat 2nights ago, mull of kintyre, we had to crawl out of ours at 6am. after holding roof up with feet for 1 hour. but great we can still laugh about it eh.

ya gotta stake them big tents down real tight all lines must be slip free and tight then it would hold up

MIne got blown flat in Cemeas this summer. A good storm is one thing but when it breaks your tent it's only good as a story in retrospect. Unlucky.

You didn't get this problem with the old pole construction tents.
