you can't see stuff from 360 degrees.... I don't watch a movie and have to move around alot :P but otherwise pretty cool
-
Yeah you are right.
There aren't any Laser that even come close to outputing what this machine does.
And a laser to output this would require alot of diff beams.
but I am not an expert on this = D
-
ah ok.. but wouldn't that look tacky having black borders around things like movies, when it's tryna represent a holographic image?
apps would have to be redesigned not to output certain things that are only needed for the traditional monitors.
-
Well see
this isn't a laser like a tradition Holohram
imaging 4 lcd screen
Your front LCD screen shows the front of the car
the Right LCD screen shows the right and same with with back and left LCD
and how would they deal with the black background?
We it's simple see we can see the BG cos the imagens are only being show in the middle but if a full movie was show it would cover the whole Pyramid chamber
-
One question.. how would they deal with things like black borders?
if they make the black invisible, it'd screw other stuff that needs to be drawn black.
If it was to be the new type of monitor, stuff would have to be redesigned to make proper use of it for alot of reasons,
which is only gonna happen if it's affordable to the majority of the market.
No one ever said anything about movies. This was designed with advertising in mind, and for that, I think it's brilliant. Also consider the implications for computer gaming. I imagine 21st century play rooms the size of a large lounge, almost like those virtual rooms in star trek. Folks, welcome to the 21st century.

The thing is, you aren't actually seeing something in 3-D. It's just a 2-D projection that you can view at all angles.
