I'm mad ok I've been a fan since I was 7 months and Beckham is my favorite player. I'm so mad that they're moving him to 2nd base! My dad's season tix r rite along the 3rd base line and I got to c him but now I can't as better as I could b4! Anyway, awesome vid!!!!!

@jkerouac02..... I agree that Beckham improved immensely at third base but he was real bad for the first 2 months. Beckham is the most exciting player to be called up by the Sox since Frank Thomas and he is already better liked than Frank ever was. His progress at 3rd base gives me hope that his graduation into a good defensive 2nd baseman won`t take long.The fact remains that Andrus was solid ALL season and had a better rookie season.

Andrus batted 9th most of the year. His job was to replace a gold glove SS and play better defense. He did just that. His range was much better than Michael Young`s range. Improved defense helped Texas improve by 8 wins in the W-L column. He stole 33 bags and was only caught 6 times and he had 16 sacrifices. In short he played winning baseball. Beckham will be a great run producer but Andrus gets the nod for a complete rookie season. He made his pitchers much better. Beckham`s defense was poor.

@rlegear19 Do you realize that in 100 less ABs, Gordon Beckham put up the same or better #'s than Andrus at many hitting categories? Plus you can't talk defense b/c Beckham didn't get to play his real position and had to learn 3B for the first time in his career. I think the only reason Andrus got so much voting at the end of the year is people not wanting to look wrong when they said he was the "real deal sure thing"....covering a lot of butts with votes

Well, Bailey got the AL ROY award....... good for him but Gordon was recognized by his peers as the best when they voted. His peers know that when the dust clears, Gordon will be the biggest star. I may have voted for Andrus myself because of his defense and the fact that he played the full season but i know that Beckham is on the Ryne Sandberg track to the HOF. Beckham will be a phenomenal hitter in this game. He has tremendous pitch recognition ability and will only get better.
