This is a remake of story structure and plotting, a much better video series in my opinion. All you need to watch is the first six parts to understand how to use the story-structure guide. The last six parts gives a real-time example of how I use the guide.

Pass it around. This is a gem. At least I think so.

Here is a link to the guide.

  • Not really believe it or not i acutally figured out before the end of the movie that he was dead, and kind of ruined it for everyone watching the movie around me that heard me revelation a good maybe three four minutes before the character actually figured it out.

Yeah i figured out the clues before my family did, and i really pissed them off. come to find out i wasnt the only one (thank god) that figured the movie out before the main character did.

  • @TheBookwurm82 Yeah, I had the benefit of walking into the theater late, and so missed the early clues, so him being dead was like BAM, WOW! Nonetheless, such a story would not be satisfactory without such clues.

  • World building with politics...if anyone understand the foundamentals of the French Rev and Robespierre's dicatorship, then you'll know that why I say I'm trying to work a government like that into my story. This is brief I know but would it be good for fantasy story?

  • It can be made to work. Many fantasy stories use history as a backdrop. Russians become the draves and so forth.

  • I'm sorry if this is cheeky of me to ask, but can you send me the temnplate you use please.

    Thank you

  • I'm not sure what you mean by template. Do you mean the image in the video? It is linked in the description, if so.

  • About that train thing, couldn't you turn the train right and not hit anyone? Lol

  • (2/2) ... so many Hollywood blockbuster movies have sort of standardized plot lines with foreshadowing and 75% "all seems lost" points etc. and often times movies that don't have this are much less popular (I'd give an example but I'm concerned that I just missed such standardized plot points). So I guess this tutorial isn't for me so much. However, for this style of story-telling I think this is a rather good tutorial :)

  • (1/2) Whereas I agree that you need foreshadowing in a story such as the one in The Sixth Sense (because otherwise it would make no sense, e.g. if the wife or others did just talk to him or something), I don't think it's necessary for such an event as a character dying. I favor realism to story-telling in stories - in real life sometimes it comes unexpected and so that's cool in stories too in my opinion. I know this is a bit of an unpopular view, as can be seen in the fact that ...

  • I'm so glad you do. I could have and may stil get some pretty shitty comments from people. Oh well. Haha. It's funny how we all waste our breath or fingerspeak to bad mouth people we don't know or will ever see on here. We're so childish.

  • @BenUriyahMay i agree. Rather kill someone I don`t know than my mum.. hehe

  • I'd kill the children, it might be fucked up but last time I checked I was an animal. Hahaha, sorry world.

  • im falling asleep, im need to get to bed, but at the quick glance of your video it looks like just the kind of thing ive been seeking. Ive got such a complicated interwining of sub plots that not only can i not see it entire in detail in my head, but even on page i give up, i can start out with a simle premise and rewrite it expanding more and more each time, everythings there and it should all work, its held me up for ages.I think this will be my salvation when i view tomorrow, I thank you
