I meant cars turning left. Doh!

Yeh, this is the cycle lane. We have to share with other vehicles mate. You have to be bit more aware that these problems occur. The bus driver should've recognised the choke point right enough but there was just enough room i've had worse when they overtake then quickly pull in to a stop directly in front. Cars turning right do this too. Impatient Muppets.

He on road, you in cycle lane. Ug no see why you no like?
-
lmao you're a big girl.
-
What a complete arsehole of a man you really are. You are just a pure nuisance to the people of Glasgow, hope you get what's coming to you soon.
-
the bus did signal, you sir are just an arsehole!!!!
-
Clearly the cycle lane isn't wide enough so to ride in the centre of it is asking for trouble as you can get 'doored' easily. There's NO onbligation to ride in the cycle lane only in a position on the highway that 'should' be safe for you as a cyclist. Magnatom has the legal right of way here, the bus driver endangers him illegally by overtaking (needlessly) far too close. It is the bus drivers fault for the most part followed by the local highway engineers who designed the lane improperly!

better reporting it to forst edinburgh as that was an edinburgh service that runs into glasgow.
-
An idiot out looking for trouble on his bike to upload to YouTube and shout about it.
-
@magnatom you are one man on a tiny bicycle, and the bus is giant with lots of people going to work and stuff, i dont think its right to not let them pass then
-
The bus never entered the cycle lane, you whiney bitch.
-
@stevenmcardle1 I was trying really really hard to understand your paint - but I failed. What are you trying to say?
-
The idiot cyclist wasn't in the cycle lane at the time the bus passed him there were cars in the cycle lane so the cyclist had to move out a little but so don't blame the bus driver
-
@Dupree94 Thanks for the flowers! But to prove your point & to show that I am not just a knob but also a dogmatist: The Vauxhaul AND the bus driver were wrong. Who ever said that cyclists are never in the wrong? Maybe next time you get enraged about a cyclist not adhering to what you think the rules are: Take a look around and count how often motorists behave badly. You will see everything: speeding, RLJ, not giving way, running over stop signs, wrong parking... But that is all acceptable - no?
-
@MrPorhtnasim Yes. The point being it was The Vauxhall that was in the wrong. But, Cyclists are never wrong are they?
P.S. You're a knob. (Not sarcasm).
-
How can people even debate this? The cyclist (seeing what was coming up) was well in the lane of the bus before he even started to overtake (0:22). How prejudiced & hateful must someone be to question that the bus driver was in the wrong?
Can someone pls update me on UK legislation? A cycle lane with a dashed line: is it considered to be a lane on it's own or a "protection strip" for cyclists that actually is part of the adjacent lane? There must be a difference to cycle tracks (solid line)
-
@Dupree94 Yeah you figured it out Mr. Clever. He definitely should have stayed in the cycle lane and collide with that Vauxhaull confusing it with a parking space (or were you trying to be sarcastic?)
-
How much room do you want, stupid question cause you want the whole road
-
As the Bus went by first time you were not in the cycle lane.
Fool.
-
buses are the unlike motabikes aloud to use cycle lanes, read your high way code you pratt!
-
Im not on a cyclist downer
But the driver did nothing wrong at all, he was in his lane and yours was blocked so he could have slowed but the obvious choice was for you to take action before that happened. Its all well and good loading vids blaming every other driver but you have to look at your own actions first. your not blameless are you. i hope you survive on the roads but anticipating others actions will help you with that goal
Ride safe
-
in my opinion the bus driver didn't give adequate space to the cyclist...but the cyclist is a wanker looking for trouble.
-
Um..the bus didn't go over into the cycle lane? There's also no room for it to go further over to the right..although at the second part where he pulls out, he IS at fault. He should have seen you in his mirror and given you time to pass. Surely you overtaking and being half way past is a signal enough? This is one of the reasons I haven't learnt to drive yet. Bus drivers are crazy.
I know its close, but in my opinion the problem is more the cycle lane than the bus driver. If you look at how close the bus is to the dividing line of the 2 road lanes, he couldnt exactly move any further to the right or he'd be into oncoming traffic

@Nikon05 Or seeing the pinch point ahead he could have hung back a little until it was safe to pass safely. The onus for a safe overtake is on the overtaker.
