@nobodyslaw That only lasted for half a year until the 1969 1/2 Roadrunner 440 SixPack came out and was the fastest non pony car that ever came out. However the 1968-69 Dart/Cuda SS 426 Hemi's can be considered factory cars because they were sold from the dealerships to the populous and was commissioned to be built by the factory by Hurst, they ran in the high to mid 10's from the factory. And then their are the factory lieght weights from Mopar in 63-64 but dont think they were tested by a mag.
AMX was 1969's (stock as available from factory) fastest car 1/4 mile, beating even 427 tripower vettes! Available factory options for the AMX in 1969 included 390cid stroker AMC (with 390 forged crank was standard, on 343 optional), Doug Thorley Headers, Edelbrock 2x4bbl cross ram lowrise intake, 4speed trans, (727auto came standard), 5.11 posi (AMC20 bulletproof rearend), Go Pac (first {optional} traction control system, positions axle with rudimentory 4 link).

With Amc cars the term 'Numbers matching' is not used.
Yes the Vin indicates cid and trans type, but no casting numbers match per sey.
In this case the 343 is just that a '343 cid'!
This car was never a 'Big 3' product, and that's a good thing!
