Mozart wrote this brilliant, fresh, charming, origi nal and aristocratic music for 2 orchestras.Orchestra A:Strings/Orchestra B:Strings and timpani.

It was composed in january 1776,probably,to celebrate the New Year(Mozart was 20)at the Antonia Lodron's palace.Imagine!! this "stereophonic sound" at the palace!!..Antonia Lodron,Colloredo's sister, was his "muse and patron" at that time of Mozart's life(K242, K247& K287),"Lodronische Nachtmusik"...wonderful!!
Dear harmonico101, have you heard Jordi Savall and his orchestra's version? It is faster and a bit more amusing : ) But this is indeed a beautiful performance.! Thank you so much for uploading period performances, you are simply a saint :)
