Video tutorial on the Beta 52 and signal processing

I posted on the video that the kick drum sound great without processing.. I already knew that... But since the video is about beefing it up for a particular style of music, the use of processing is a must... So thats why I post with such sarcasm LOL.. Its clearly said on the video yet people try to be negative....:-)

Also most people been negavite have no clue about how to use the program much less know what the heck I'm doing with the plug ins.. Food for thoughts.

Have a nice day.

  • is that PERFECT for the electric guitars or there is something specialized for that

    (Shure).

  • @Zico10101010

THe BETA 52a is for low tone instruments like kick drums, bass cabinets..

If you want to record a big Metal-Monzter guitar you can use the D6 or Beta52a to capture the back of the cabinet..

I use the Sen. 609 and 421 mkII for guitar amps. Shure mics are just as good.. its all in the tone you want..

    cheers!

  • sounds like a sick metal kick with all that processing

  • whats the name of that song playing at the end?

  • @AndyCrystalOfficial

unfortunately this video has a bad mp4 compression. But the fact is that this is a video about making the kick drum punchy. more attack and EQ. The natural mic would work for many type of music styles.. bUt here I'm giving a way of how to make it cut thru a heavy mix of Prog-rock, metal, etc.So! There is a lot of irrelevant comments about the BD sounding "better" dry or not.. AND LOL If you pay close attention, the video says 0:53 (Sounds great without any) processing ;)

  • @girotube i never said you said it :D, i just said that a prefer the natural sound of the B52 and as a general rule the outside miked kick drum. BUT it sounds good in this particular case.

  • @Honeythebeebee

LOL boss you said it all by yourself. so it was irrelevant like I said.. That song you mention, the kick drum is miced outside. AND not even close to the mic technique and sound that I'm showing here in my video.

Two complete ways of mic placing and processing. ALSO never said this video tutorial is for rock N' roll

AND YES "Where are we running" very ugly and nasty video it is; showing the life of a rock artist. shameful truth.

    Take care.

  • @girotubeyes this is good for some modern music like punk rock or metal, but not for "true" rock n roll, too modern, there's only low end and attack, but not (enough) mids, i have a 24" and i want it to sound like a 24". listen to the lenny kravitz's where are we running, thats what im talking about. the BD is "full".

  • @Honeythebeebee

IT'S OBVIOUS this video is not for you guys! ;)

Good luck trying to make that kick drum stick out in a mix without processing.. If you pay attention on the video, this is not jazz nor bluegrass hehe.. ALSO the video says "Sounds great without any", processing that is.. But since this is a "ROCK" processing, the comments are irrelevant.

    Anyways thanks for watching..

  • @Damanik3 same for me (by far)
