  • Well off course NYCB's version is better, that is after all Balanchine's company and legacy!

  • Man, what I wouldn't give to see this live!

  • My daughters dance teacher showed them this in class tonight...made a huge impression on her! Loves it! She came home and made me look it up..beautiful.

  • There are no words to describe how beautiful this was or how genius Balanchine was

  • @icarrus4u this is not one of Balanchine's story ballets. he excelled in created ballets like this; that are wed solely to the music and very pure. you didn't know that?

  • BRAVO

  • I did this ballet while I was I was in my first year in the company... What's the story?

  • @dansertoujours

if you mean the promenade, the man is actually holding her thigh and turning her, it's not as hard as you might think though still difficult to be sure

  • what the girl does around minute 2:00 is unbelievable! it must be so hard!

  • @wck26 But its very unfortunate that there are no examples available here on yt or pretty much anywhere else so that we could all SEE that. The fact that there are very very few examples of NYCB actually performing more than a few seconds (and I mean 3-15) seconds of anything is available online. In the end we lose because few of us can afford to fly into NY to see them or the few cities where they tour, and they do because the most faithful representation of Balanchine's work is absent here

  • im using one of the songs for my ballet dance
