This is a video of my Yaesu FT-7900R installed on a 2007 Honda Odyssey Touring using a 7800 Separation Kit and a vent mount. Only drilled holes are for the tranceiver unit on the driver's seat base.

  • how do you like the vent mount? Does it do the Job? I have a Silverado, and Chevy doesnt make it easy to mount anything. I might mount the unit behind the seat (regular cab), and run it kinda like you did. (not sure yet.)

  • I did not run it through the firewall. I ran the wires (zipped power cable) through the side of the fender then through the door then to the interior. Rest is pretty easy, and Odyssey is rather easy to install mobile radio on. Also, I use a Diamond S400 mount which is strong enough for me to install an ATAS-120A on when I'd like to work DX.

  • May I ask how you ran the power cable through the Firewall?
