  • I don't care if this is transposed down a half-step! What a voice! - What a sound!

I've commented on other postings of Corelli's recordings: IF TESTOSTERONE HAD A SOUND - IT WOULD BE HIS VOICE!! I consider myself truly blessed to have witnessed him in live performances - and they are evenings I will never forget! Bravissimo - STRA- BRAVO Maestro Corelli! There is no one like you today -and we will probably never know your likes again! You sing in heaven with the angels!

  • In many clips on Youtube he sang the high C.But in this clip, that's really a high B,NOT A HIGH C !!!! And that's a fact !!! And this B is very thrlling really !!!

Thats so funny that you say that because when i describe voices like Corelli or DelMonaco I always say virile. Sometimes people don;t know what that means so thewn I say..well his sound is all balls...just thought that would amuse you

  • Except for his Covent Garden Manrico(1938) ,Bjorling ALWAYS transposed the Pira half step down.He also skiped the High D-Flat at the end of the First Act trio.

    Corelli didn't.

    To me, the greatestvTenor ever

  • HIGH Cs ARE OVER RATED THE MOST THRILLING SOUND I'VE HEARD IS THE B AT THE END OF (LAMENTO DI FREDRICO) BY JUSSI BJORLING IN HIS LATER RECORDING OF THAT ARIA...IT GIVES YOU SHIVERS...NO ONE COMES CLOSE TO CORELLI'S TROVATORE RECORDING...CARUSO WOULD OF BEEN IN AWE...CORELLI AND BJORLING WERE TOPS!

  • @JoanNilson

HAHA - "if testosterone had a voice!" I love that - and it's so true!!!

  • Bravo!

  • Terrible recording of a favorite tenor of mine. Break out your pitch pipes, this is down a full step, probably the fault of the worlds most overrated opera company.

  • For me, there is no heaven, never will be. This is one of the greatest tenors of the 20th century, without doubt
