A beautiful rendition of this difficult piece. The rich bass of the harpsichord is a delicious sound and Ms Shao senses many beautiful fugal harmonies. Gorgeous!
@cozmagl the difference between the piano and harpsichord is that the piano has hammers (strings are hit by those), while the harpsichord has some sort of a needle, that makes the string buzzle, generating that "crispy" sound.
"capriccio" means he used unconventional compositional techniques (such as a melody using intervals of the 10th and 11th, unusual use of variation, etc) it is an apotheosis of the strange ideas that develop in the previosu movements.
