This is a video project I made for a graduate college class in 2005. It is about my Grandfather's WWII division called "The Third Armored Division".
The project uses actual photos from his collection, other pictures found on-line, interviews and other clips from a History Channel Documentary, and music from the "Medal of Honor" video game, and me narrating (my apologies).

The Third Armored Division is an extremely underrated division for reasons that I hoped to bring out when doing this project.

The men in this division, and indeed the allies as a whole, have my utmost admiration and respect.

I was able to send a copy of this project to a surviving member of the division, who knew my Grandfather. He said he enjoyed it and that it was an accurate representation of his units exploits.

  • very well Done. i don't know if everything is as accurate, for instance the Screaming MImi's were allready deployed before the Normandy Landing.

  • @ThePanzerWarMachine I appreciate the first part of your comment. However, I have to disagree with you regarding the accuracy of my work. I just re-listened to the part about Screaming Mimis and I never mention when they were deployed, just that they were used against the 3AD during their push to the Siegfried Line, which is accurate. You also insinuate that there are other inaccuracies. If so, please state them.

  • @Albs1414

For instance, The Part with the hedgewroes, Members Of the 84th Armoured Engineers came up with the Original Idea. Second, Screaming Mimi's were Used from Mid '43. Third, What you have in the Video about American Tank were Faster, Quicker, and better is a lie. a 45 Ton Panther Would Out Manouver, Out Gun, out Pase a Sherman any given day of the week. Shermans Got stuck, were Panthers diden't.

  • @ThePanzerWarMachine Your grasp of English is suspect based on your poor grammar so my guess is you are misinterpreting much of what was said in the video. I never commented at all about WHEN the Screaming mimi's were used. Were they used against the 3AD? Yes they were. I never said that the Sherman was a better tank. In fact, I specifically said that it was not a match for the German tanks, as did the veterans who were there. The Sherman was a faster tank and that is well documented.

  • @ThePanzerWarMachine As for the hedgehopper, I never said who specifically created it. I only said that the allies developed it which is true. So, before you go and accuse someone of “lying” in their video, maybe you should LISTEN a little more carefully to what is ACTUALLY said. If you would like to DISCUSS things in the video, listen to it again and make sure you’re not hearing what you want to hear. Then we’ll talk. If you are just trying to start a fight, I’m not interested.

  • wow, did you make this video yourself? i mean combined and augmented the existing documentaries.

    Medal of honor game music?

  • Yeah I made this for a grad class where the final exam was to create a project using various forms of technology. I used pictures from my Grandfather, clips from another documentary, and music from Medal of Honor, Band of Brothers, etc. The worst part is the narration because I can't stand the sound of my own voice.

I combined everything using Pinnicle Studio 8 (if I remember correctly)

I now have Sony Vegas which is much better.

It was really done to honor my grandfather, however.
