Gold Mountain Communications, LLC, a relatively new Springfield company, is adding 140 jobs, which will more than triple its employee count from March of this year. To accommodate this growth, the company is investing nearly $1 million and has leased a new office facility located at 1701 W. Sunshine St.

A ribbon-cutting and grand-opening for Gold Mountain Communications, Inc., will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, at 1701 W. Sunshine St., Suite K.

Founded by former employees of the Wyndham Vacation Resorts call center, Gold Mountain Communications, began operations in downtown Springfield in April 2009, making its first "official" call in June 2009 with 15 employees. Now, the company is expanding to meet the demands of their travel industry-based clients.

"We were able to leverage existing contacts in the industry to help get the business off the ground," said Hank Seevers, president. "The Chamber assisted us throughout the process and helped guide us through state incentive programs important to our expansion."

In April, the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) approved $376,000 in state tax credits for Gold Mountain Communications under the Enhanced Enterprise Zone (EEZ) program, which offers state tax credits to companies creating jobs and making investments within the specified zone.

"The decision by Gold Mountain Communications to expand and prosper in Springfield is wonderful news for our economy," said David Kerr, Director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. "We are pleased that economic incentives from the state of Missouri helped pave the way."

The tax credits will be provided over a five-year period for the creation of the 140 new jobs and new investment of $960,000 for the facility expansion.

"This is an example of entrepreneurship at its best," says John Wanamaker, chairman of the Springfield Business Development Corporation, the economic development arm of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. "Hank Seevers and his team not only bounced back from being laid off, but their company is now creating jobs. We're excited to be part of the process of helping Gold Mountain Communications expand."

Gold Mountain Communications is accepting job applications from qualified sales applicants. For an application, please visit the office at 1701 W. Sunshine, Suite K, Springfield, MO 65807.
