@75capriceconvertible My parents' best friends were looking for their second home in 1943 when this one was on the market and the husband wanted it badly, but his wife knew instantly that it was not the kind of house she could entertain in, so they settled for a very nice two-story Colonial, but much more traditional place instead. It sure would have been fun growing up getting to visit it, though.

@NDrLoR interesting to know how it's constructed inside... if I could afford such a place, first thing I'd do is know out some walls and make bigger rooms! I'm partial to spacious rooms. And a basement kitchen? No way! I'd be somehow moving that to the main floor.

Do you know if they rent it for weddings?

@dnae3524 No, because the inside of it is still a mess from all the water damage, but that would be a great use for it!

That turret is awe-inspiring! Three floors!

@75capriceconvertible I have been in it a few times. In 1969, when the first long-time owner died, they left it to a local Baptist church for its youth center, but they quickly decided it was a white elephant and put it up for sale. While it was for sale, several of the local upscale furniture stores furnished rooms for a month and it was open to the public. The rooms are very small and the kitchen is in the basement!
