Runco's Weekly Music - Sharon Jones

I would be VERY surprised

if you don't like this week's selection...

It's by Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings. I heard her on 91.3 FM WYEP -- a Pittsburgh public radio station.... which I would say is just about tied with 90.5 FM for Pittsburgh's best radio stations.

Anyways, listening to Sharon Jones is like listening classic Motown -- except it's 'new' Motown -- being produced now, in 2007. Others tend to describe her genre as Funk, Soul, or R&B... call it what you will -- it's good music.

She's very soulful... and I can promise -- she's worth a listen. Especially if you grew up listening to 'oldies' as a child... as I did.

I was going to put this week's second song ('Nobody's Baby') first, and '100 days 100 Nights' second... but then I realized I chose the 1st and 2nd song off her album. So I figured -- there's probably a reason why she put the first song first and the second song second... and it's probably better than my reason for doing the reverse.

That being said... here's '100 Days 100 Nights'... and 'Nobody's Baby,' by Sharon Jones -- in the order they appear on the album. And 100 Days 100 Nights is available for free through Amazon.com.... FYI.
