American Girl Place Horse Carriage Rides

On July 21, at 10:30 am, as humid temperatures approached 90 degrees and a reported heat index of 109 degrees, carriages lined up in front of the 5th Avenue and 49th Street location of American Girl Store. Forty girls climbed into carriages for a ride after dining at the store's Café.

The $75 promotional event is also scheduled for, July 28th, August 4th, and August 18th

Please sign this petition to Judy Herbst, Senior Manager of Marketing for American Girl Place. Most of the customers in the store agreed with the activists and were sympathetic for the carriage horses. American Girl Place support of Horse abuse isn't helping their image nor their business.

@DReynolds3 success, the petition is down because American Girl Place cancelled the rides which is a win win for their customers and for the carriage horses.

I know some carriage drivers don't do as much as they should, but do the horses look upset? Seriously, watch their body language. They probably don't care pulling a carriage when they are just walking. Walking is better then being tied in a stall.

Id love to see you bring this to an actual horse barn. Everybody would laugh their heads off. I mean seriously. I ride and jump horses in below freezing weather to 100 degree weather. It's not as if the galloping through the streets!
