hey... Do u know if there is any way I can set a button to use a skill anywhere, at anytime on the map?
I mean it will not be useful in battle or menu...
I want to create a spell that teleports my character whenever I press a pre-selected button while standing. The technique would be useful, but it would be available just after u get to at least level 50...
If you know a way of doing that through common events, please tell me!

@AaronsGame I learned scripting because I wanted to do something that had not yet been done in RPG Maker. I started by taking a couple tutorials, then taking up support for my favorite scripts. Once I had debugged those scripts for long enough, I had a pretty good understanding of how to program what I wanted. It was just programming the dream project after that.

Yeah I'm learning Java and a little C++ at school what do you need to do to learn how to make your own script?

No seriously though, you need to learn scripting or have someone else do it for you. They can be done with eventing too, but it requires more time than learning scripting would take.

I do not want to sound like a douche here but I probably will. I was reading in your annotations about how youtube creates lag. False. The video itself is laggy, probably due to conversion (maybe). I also read in there about you could have made things better but you have a life...I get so tired of hearing that same excuse. If you are making a game, make it to the best of your ability even if it takes longer. Don't slap things together and say "it would be better but I have a life."
