@BelfastAtheist Wait can I ask you a yes or no question.
Do you consider a No Fly Zone an act of war?
What if that no fly zone was over Brittan, what would u say then?
My point is the UN approves of war and violence yet has no teeth to stop violence. Even if the UN did mandate that Palestine was a country that would not change anything, Israel would simply ignore the UN like they do now.
If you think otherwise you are an idealist not a realist.

That; and the only Countries with Veto Power are themselves usually State Terrorists - i.e China, Russia, America, Britain - all guilty of brutal War Crimes both past, current and future almost definantly.
It's complicated, but alas - the World is a complicated place. I regret not just sending you all this in a PM...

The U.N did betray it's duties and many people in Bosnia and Rwanda, though there's a lot of other factors to be considered in regards to both Countries. But that doesn't mean the U.N cannot still be a force for good in the World..
The fact of the matter is, the U.S has corrupted the U.N on a massive-scale (Predictably) and even proposals like solving the Israeli/Palestine issue which the WHOLE WORLD ROUTINELY VOTES FOR in the General Assembly - effectively get Vetoed)

@Jamespot24
The U.N supported a *No-fly zone* - it did not authorize the use of Covert British Special Forces, of vast Air-force utilization, of a CIA infilitration of 'Rebel' forces and use of a former CIA agent for Command of the Eastern Rebels. The U.N approved a very small-scale Mission which was covertly started by America (Which, like in Iraq and Afghanistan; uses Britain to do it's dirty work) and took-over with mania and massive bombing campaigns that the U.N never approved of..

I believe this was Article 32 of the Geneva Convention, and the clause of the U.N Charter (I believe it was Article 4, I might have these backwards. Supranational Law is complicated..) which deals with aquisition of Territory through Warfare (Rendering it illegal) has also been virtually rescinded by the U.S in order to placate Israel and it's land-grabs. International Law is irrelevant to your Rulers..
You're wrong about the U.N and Libya too, btw.

..Of the Geneva Convention (Which makes it a Fundamental premise of basic International Law applicable to every Country in the U.N) which would have illegalized Israeli Colonization of Palestine - the United States is pretty open in it's contentment that it has effectively rescinded the Geneva Convention, Bush pretty much did when advised to do so - in regards to Iraq so as to avoid prosecution for War Crimes, which was a serious concern to his Administration at one point anyways.

..When Mahmoud Abbas (Who started out as 'Your guy') even tentatively tried to approach Statehood, the first thing your Congress did was cut off Hundreds of Millions of Dollars in Humanitarian aid that was going to devasted Palestinian refugees (Among many others) - is that you call equality? Palestinian suffering is irrelevant to your Rulers, which is why Clinton was the ONLY One to abstain from voting in the Security Council several years ago when a fundamental part of..

@Jamespot24
You've got the fundamentals backwards; your idea of what the U.N is supposed to be is flawed. The U.S is was created largely as an International Body to strive for Peace / to avoid Conflict.
There are many ways you can avoid conflict. You can treat both Parties in a Conflict with equality - however, the U.S has made it part of Legally-binding U.S Law that ANY Body that gives Palestine Statehood must *immediatly* have it's funding cut. Hell, your Congress recently..

@BelfastAtheist Lol you UN lovers do not see that the UN has
No Authority over sovereign nations
No Ability to punish sovereign nations
And both things are needed to create legality
Furthermore the UN has never started a war yet approved of many, the most recent in Libya. Also Rwanda and Bosnia genocides those useless peace keepers did nothing. They hold no credibility with me
