This is a short clip of my 1960 Med Cruise on the USS Essex CVA 9. I was assigned as a Nuclear Weapons tech. At the time I was a Petty Officer 2nd Class. The clip shows some flight operations from that period and several of the ports we visited.

I was an air controlman aboord the USS Essex CVA-9 in 1959 to 1961. I was in the tower during these flight ops. Since this is a CVA, not CVS scene, must be the 1959 to 1960 cruise. It was interesting that you named Thessolonica, the biblical name (now Solonika). How long were you aboard? John Ingram
