The Road was epic. Have you read Blood Meridian? If not you absolutely should. Cormac McCarthy is such a great writer.

@045454kgg The Song of Ice and Fire Series is also awesome and I feel it's soared in popularity since the HBO series started but for me personally I tend to lean towards stand alone books.

Going Postal is one of my favourite Pratchetts! :D If you haven't read Good Omens by Pratchett & Gaiman, you really should. It's amazingly funny!

Also, I just read Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell this summer - not on my favourites list, but it was great nonetheless. Fantasy of Manners is my fave fantasy subgenre. ^^
