Elizabeth Warren, who was assigned to the bailout Congressional Oversight Panel in November '08, explains how Americans have sunk themselves into unsusatinable debt. Credit card companies prefer customers who can only make minumum interest payments each month - this is a technique similar to the World Bank and IMF who get 3rd world countries entangled in a web of debt from which they can never escape, paying interest so high that they have little or no money left over for essential functions. America is headed down the same road - as it is, by 2040, ALL government revenue will go towards Social Security, Medicare, and interest on the national debt.

@Aspetta17 It's not a sham , if America is so bad why has this country received and continues to receive the largest migration of human beings in history of people seeking a better life . Don't blame the banks for creating debt , blame the Gov. for believing that it's their job to make sure we all have a house and wealth , and allowing the banks to give out loans like free air . I also don't remember the banks putting a gun to someone and saying "take out a loan" .

No bank can lend it's own credit, and cannot lend the depositers money, so where did the "credit" come from? It can from the signer/borrower, who is truly the 'lender' as it is their own money being advanced to them. Watch MONEY MATRIX on google video. Read Modern Money Mechanics. The "weakest customers" are the Banks and the Government who went Bankrupt in 1938 since then is no "money" under Art1, sec.8&10 of the US Consitution. The American Dream IS a sham, but the American Spirit isn't dead. Where there's a will, there's a way. If you look back through history, you'll see that the underprivileged have slowly gone from slaves, to serfs, to "voluntary" employees, and I don't believe that is the end of the story. I do believe that there is another "push" coming in the near future - the people need to DEMAND their dignity from the elite. Unfortunately, the only thing the oligarchy ever seems to respond to is violence...

We're all too mired in the system. There is no escape. They have us. We are debt slaves and forever will be, until the end of the world. The rich own and run everything, and we are powerless. They keep education and social programs lacking in funds, to keep us stupid and struggling so we have to depend on the system just to makes ends meet, unable to think our way out of it, and socially powerless to stand against them. It's too late. We have lost. The american dream is a sham. Time to give up.
