Flies in the Ointment is the first short film I properly shot, directed and edited using an XL-1, and my old G4 with Final Cut Pro 3. It was a collaboration between my brother, my friend Matt McNearney (The Bugman) and myself. We did the whole thing in a weekend and I still think its one of the best projects that I've done.
At the time I hated video and so I really wanted to f**k with the image, hence the high contrast black and white image. The music really makes it, Matt found those track which are amazing. Would have loved to get this into festivals but how am I going to get permission to use these tracks...?
As for what the film is about? Well lets just say I've heard a lot of different interpretations...
