@FergusonMBE Probably a hell of a lot longer than 8000 to be honest, if I remember they've found fossilized cannabis material in pipes dating back into pre-history. You have to keep in mind, much of the early stuff (the recipe for Bhang for example) is more in the vein of eating the stuff than smoking it. The same can be said of most psychoactive plants...people have been eating various forms of mushrooms or DMT containing vines (i.e. Ayahuasca) for thousands of years to get high.

@UmbertoAssandri you are correct.

@Umberto Well its a similar case as that of HOLOCAUST. Some say it existed and other are in total denial. Our history has been twisted and tarnished for political and personal gains that it is hard to conclude the truth of our past. The south asian (predominantly India and Pakistan) culture and heritage is so rich and that it has influenced the history of mankind. Its almost rare that the west give us the credit for all the historic innovations we have given to the modern world.
the theory of Arian Civilization is an old racist view of the west. We know now that a more complex situations has happened on to the rise of a culture that still lives today. The culture of the Veda come from South Asia and not from Central Europe.
